Gain valuable industry experience

Our approach to real world experience and professional placements is a big reason why Leeds Trinity has a reputation for producing highly employable graduates.

Many universities will give you the chance to do a placement, but we embed professional work placements within the majority of our standard undergraduate degrees, meaning they are part of the academic year rather than separate sandwich years.

This means you’ll graduate with degree-relevant experience, industry contacts and valuable employer references you need to thrive.

Here are just some of the reasons why choosing Leeds Trinity means you’ll be putting your career first.

Excellent employer relationships

We’ve developed relationships with more than 3,000 employer partners across the UK, giving you access to placement opportunities in a wide range of industries. These include leading national employers such as ITV, Aviva and the NHS as well as local businesses both in the private and third sector.

Thanks to these relationships, we have a wide range of placement opportunities for Leeds Trinity students with both local and national organisations.

Direct access to employer networks

Direct access to employer networks through employability initiatives such as Careers+Placement Fairs and Meet the Employer events, that provide placements, volunteering opportunities and graduate roles.

Financial support

We'll give you a placement allowance for every placement you complete, which you can use towards the cost of your travel. If your placement requires a DBS the university helps to arrange that and pays for it too.

Experience that counts

All our professional work placements are part of an assessed module, which means that the experience you gain counts towards your final degree classification.

Go international

We encourage you to complete a placement abroad to boost your confidence and global awareness and make your CV stand out.

We offer opportunities in countries like South Africa, Fiji, Rwanda and Malaysia and we help you apply for financial support from available grants.
