Leeds Trinity University has launched a new Degree Apprenticeship aimed at developing skills in digital marketing.
The Digital Marketer Degree Apprenticeship, which includes modules on content marketing, e-commerce strategies and campaign management, as well as a BA (Hons) Professional Practice in Digital Marketing, is aimed at current and aspiring digital marketing executives, search engine optimisation specialists and account managers.
Claire Newhouse, Head of Apprenticeship and Skills at Leeds Trinity University, said: "The digital sector in Leeds is facing a huge skills shortage with more roles than trained individuals. The programme meets the needs of employers who are looking for enthusiastic apprentices, who can work from day one whilst developing the skills and knowledge in marketing, tech and consumer behaviour."
The University will be the first in Yorkshire to offer the Degree Apprenticeship, which takes three years to complete and starts in April 2020. Pharmaceutical company Teva have enrolled four employees onto the programme.
Helen Jolly, HR Manager at Teva UK, said: "It's a great opportunity for our employees to study for a degree in their chosen career pathways, and the fact that the Apprenticeship is built around work-based learning will enable them to apply what they learn directly to their roles.
"Leeds Trinity have been excellent in meeting our requirements and ensuring that the programme will meet ours and the apprentices' needs."
On Tuesday 12 November, Leeds Trinity University is hosting a drop-in session for anyone wanting to find out more. It will take place from 3.30 - 5.00pm at Blueberry Marketing in the city centre.
